The concept behind this restaurant design is based on 2 traditional aspects of Venezuela, the first being the national dance Joropo, and the second being a common spice found in the amazon rain forest known as annatto (as seen in this image). While the fruit ans seeds of the annatto plant heavily influenced the booth design and layout, the flower placed major influence on my light fixture design
as mention, the annatto fruit heavily influenced the design of my seating, however, the restaurant circulation took influence from Venezuela's traditional dance known as the Joropo. the way the dresses flow freely while the women dance around the stage brought me to the belief that the circulation of this traditional Venezuelan restaurant should not be linear, but instead feel like you're dancing around the space
The central booth is based on Angel Falls Plateau, as this is the countries tallest waterfall, this central booth is intended to represent it as it is the tallest booth in the restaurant
For the bar I took inspiration from the vast rivers and waterfalls located around the country
Here we can see the custom ceiling mounted light fixture which I design based on the Annatto flower.
here we have water falling down a rain chain at the bar resembling the various waterfalls, while bringing a calming sensation to the space
